1. I also hope that you (Jim) will be able to maintain yourself to be as
healthy as possible, considering your degradations and loss of energy over
the last few years.
2. Would also agree with you, Bobbie S, Todd H, and probably others that
it's probably not worth it to keep the Monday evening SF-LUG meetings
around any longer, given the various factors you've all previously
mentioned.
3. Would also float out the idea of extending the First Sunday SF-LUG
meetings an hour longer. This would effectively mean that Sunday meetings
could stretch from 11am to 2pm, instead of the current 2-hour 11am to 1pm
time-limit.
Several advantages of this come to mind:
+ there would more significant time to engage in matters of discussion,
troubleshooting, projects,...etc.
+ Bobbie S and Jim would still only have to shlep out to Cafe Enchante
once a month, so little-to-no extra effort would be required to stay at
the cafe for just that one extra hour
+ there is already precedence for local Linux user groups to meet for more
than two hours; BALUG meetings (e.g., via Michael P's doubled "Please
RSVP..." posting at [2]) for which attendees have mentioned can go from
6:30pm to after 9pm; BerkeleyLUG's meetups (see [3]) which are actually
_scheduled_ for 12Noon to 3pm twice a month.
Please feel to weigh-in on this third suggestion above.
