I remember that question - were you referring to blocking a microphone 
within Jitsi?


The question lead to an informative discussion about the audio settings 
within Jitsi, but doesn't seem that your question was answered.



Re-reading the question, maybe you were asking for diagnostic advice on 
what could be preventing the microphone from working?

Which OS?  Does it work reasonably consistently when booting one of the 
major distros from USB?

Can't really imagine why it is so frequently inoperable, nor why it 
would work briefly then stop.
