BALUG: meeting TOMORROW!: Tu 2018-09-18: /proc & /sys filesystems; & other
BALUG News

For our 2018-09-18 (3rd Tuesday) BALUG meeting:

Discussion topics: /proc[1] & /sys[2] filesystems
We don't have a formal presentation lined up for this meeting, but we do
have a suggested discussion topic: /proc & /sys filesystems
So, bring questions, contribute - ask (and have answered) many
cool/useful/interesting bits about the /proc and /sys filesystems, much of
what they contain, how they can be used, a bit of history, their place in
Linux, etc.

1. http://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man5/proc.5.html
2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sysfs

Besides the references Michael P provided so far in [1] and above on the
/proc and /sys filesystems, here are several more....

3. The Filesystem Hierarchy Standard (FHS) Chapter 6 annex for the Linux
operating system [2]
4. StackExchange's 'What is in /dev, /proc and /sys?' [3]
5. Quora's 'What is the difference between /proc and /sys?' [4]
6. A decent YouTube video by Anthony Irwin 'demonstating proc, sys, dev,
udev and dbus' [5]
7. An *extremely* difficult-to-understand YouTube video '/proc vs /sys
filesystem' [6]

Am definitely interested in further applicable references or notes on the
subject, from Michael P and/or event attendees, following tonight's BALUG
session.
