Depending on model, support for some other chipsets including the
ethernet one might be a challenge.  Take the time to cross-check each
model you're considering on the Linux on Laptops Web pages, 
http://www.linux-laptop.net/.

FYI, getting the CD/DVD burner to work (except for really unlikely,
ancient, oddball cases of non-ATAPI-connected drives) is really a
no-brainer, regardless of model.
