Subject: Recommendations for Nov. 5 election

Reminder: 1. Mailed-in ballots must be received (not just mailed) by Nov. 5, or they will not be counted.

2. Any voting on election day is possible only by dropping off the ballot at Elections Dept. in San Mateo, or Voting Center in Redwood City, or any city/town hall in this county. There is no voting station for our precinct.

Seems very capable, very good. Recommend.

Richard Holober, Community College Boardmember.
Lives somewhere in Millbrae.

He's been good in this job. This would be his fifth term.

San Mateo GOP.

J. Samuel Diaz, Writer.
This is the fellow who submitted no candidate statement.
('You had one job. One job!')

Sequoia Union High School District, Members, Governing Board
Pick two.

Strangely enough, I agree with the Daily Post's recommendation: Vote for Georgia Jack only, and do not vote for either of the two other candidates.

Menlo Park Fire Protection District, Members, Board of Directors
Pick three.

The biggest ongoing issue with the fire district is tough negotiations with the firefighters' union. Lots of commentary here:

Peter F. Carpenter, Corporate Officer / Director

Carolyn Clarke, Menlo Park Housing Commissioner
Sort of the big-labour candidate.

Jack Nelson, Incumbent
so-so. Union-endorsed.

Chuck Bernstein, Business Executive, Educator

Forgot the link to the Daily Post's reasoning about why to vote only for Georgia Jack, casting one vote only rather than the allowed two.
