That would amount to: 'The problem I want to solve is gaining experience
installing a Linux distribution and reflashing a computer BIOS.'
(I wasn't going to delve into why Maestro's wording about 'building'
was weird, incoherent, and misleading. Instead, I've just substituted
what he seems to have meant.)
I'm really quite unclear on _why_ exactly those two things are of
interest, as stated, but whatever floats his boat.

Well, I wasn't going to get into why Maestro's bit about 'commend line'
was weird and seemed to have nothing to do with distribution installers,
either. There's only so much time one has to waste on such things.
It seemed a lot more economical of time to just ask what the man wanted
to do, and why.
And, of course, the first and most important question was: 'How much
RAM?' I notice he's now made two _further_ postings to the thread he
started, but not addressed (not even to say 'Dunno, but I'll find out')
that very fundamental question.
So, I guess he's not serious, and as usual, just wants to do what he
wants to do in his own way and disregard expert advice.
