Hmm, my experience is that Web forums (in distinction to mailing lists
and Usenet newsgroups) haver a much higher percentage of bad advice.
Ubuntu has some reportedly really good mailing lists.

Your URL might have an error in it, since it comes up with "Sorry - no
matches. Please try some different terms."

Yes. The linked walkthrough, on http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/flash ,
covers installation of the Ubuntu "flashplugin-nonfree" package on i386
Ubuntu, which in turn grabs Adobe Systems, Inc.'s proprietary Flash9
i386 tarball and installs it with Ubuntu wrappings. The walkthrough
shows this being done using (I believe) Synaptic on Ubuntu 7.10, and on
a different linked page using apt-get on prior versions.

Please note, however, that the Synaptic approach is exactly what broke
for Christian Einfeldt, when he tried it, on account of the Adobe
download's md5sum not verifying.
