I also used dd-wrt instead of openwrt. I never tested openwrt but I used 
dd-wrt in numerous wireless routers that I setup(mostly Buffalo 
WHR-HP-g54). Last time I went to Fry's they no longer had any of these 
so I've got to find some new base hardware to use in the future. I wrote 
up my experience and what I like about this setup:
