Junior or mid-level Red Hat operations engineer, downtown SF, 60K to 
120K


Group Overview:

CMI (Customer Marketing Insight) provides client data knowledge and 
expertise: in addition to generating lists for marketing and regulatory 
communications, we also perform complex marketing analysis and data 
mining activities, all flavors of ad-hoc reporting, and myriad other 
functions used to inform strategy, execute on marketing plans, and help 
drive critical business decisions to fuel Schwab’s growth. The 
technology arm of CMI builds and maintains the technology systems and 
applications used for all these purposes. We own the end-to-end support 
for applications that range from multi terabyte SAS, Oracle, and 
Teradata datamarts, sophisticated campaign management and optimization 
systems, data mining and statistical analytics, and of course the ETL 
and batch control systems that populate and maintain them.


Responsibilities:

CMI is currently looking for a junior to mid level Operations Engineer. 
This position will provide systems administration for the Linux data 
mining cluster, and in addition will provide operational support for 
batch processes.

We are looking for a smart and technically strong candidate with a good 
knowledge of Linux/Unix administration, from both a hardware and 
software perspective. Some Windows system admin duties will also be 
required.

This is a good entry level position for a technically adept candidate, 
or could also server as a transition role for a Unix sysadmin wanting 
to move into the Linux world.


Qualifications:

Must Have:
• 	Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration (preferably 
Redhat), both hardware and software
• 	Knowledge of shell scripting

Nice to Have:
• 	NetApp experience
• 	NFS/SAN protocols
• 	Windows admin experience
• 	GFS cluster management experience
• 	UC4 experience
• 	Veritas Netbackup experience
