Well, that's what you'll probably need to update, then (depending on
what you mean by "failed").  I hope you enjoy patching and compiling
kernels.  ;->

That's assuming we're correct in our guess as to what WiFi chipset you
have -- which you, and not the rest of us, are in a position to confirm
or disprove.  You'll find that information in the output of lspci and
possibly dmesg.  

If you need help, you'll need to post that.
