I'm glad:

Sun boxes are good quality and the Solaris OS is too, both
getting better.
My idea of a good, good world:
desktop: use Linux for insanely great value, rich features,
and easy integration into any LDAP/NFS/PAM environment.
Servers: for fast compute power and/or reliability along with
well-designed machine room maintenance (Sun racks are
good), use Sun boxes: Solaris 10 good, 11 better and better.
Put GNU toolkit on them for consistent administration.
Low-cost backroom boxes: for service needs without high
compute power or transactional bandwidth, use *BSD on
good quality (or not) commodity Pentium (X86) boxes.
That said, many thanks to both IBM and Hewlett-Packard
for their strong support of Linux (stronger than Sun's on-again
off-again policies--seems back on these days).
