I have two laptop computers one Acer netbook; and, the other HP dual
processor which I want to convert to Linux and all the open source > .org
available while saving my photos and files. My plan is to visit on January
24, 2010 at your home and want to know what I may contribute.

Hi, Walter! We'll be glad to give you a hand. I might suggest we
actually start by creating an archive copy onto CD-R or DVD-R disc for
you of those photos and files -- which isn't actually difficult.
You're certainly also welcome to use the CABAL CD/DVD collection (of
Linux and BSD distributions) to duplicate and to use -- and you might
want to use my external USB/Firewire-connectable optical drive to
install from onto the Acer, especially if the latter doesn't have its
own optical drive.
As to what to bring: Whatever you feel like. If you wish to bring food
to share, something with vegetables and/or fruit is generally a good
idea, because those tend to be underrepresented. Also, if you want
fizzy water (soda), don't forget to bring your own.
