[conspire] etch-backports release

Running apt-update on my deb stable box got a 
etch-backports release
can't verify signature warning , Is it safe to do my upgrade now ? Should I ditch that repository ? And , whats the best way to deal with the wrong vid. resolution on this monitor , is there a refind hardware command ?
