1. Why do you want to be a Warder?
Warders are an old breed, the best of men. They are honorable, loyal, dedicated. They're principles are as mine.
2. Why do you want to be my Warder?
I know you, and consider you a friend. It would be both an honor and a privlege to serve and protect you from danger.
3. Have you ever previously been a Warder?
Never have I been a Warder, but I have trained with men of honor.
4. Do you own a sword?
I own two swords. One a long sword, the other a short. While they lack the quality of Aes Sedai weapons, they have served me well in the past, and will serve you as well.
5. Do you own a color-shifting cape (NOTE: I will not supply this, you must find one on your own!)?
Alas, the only cape I have is of the deepest green. With thine help I would go in search of one, or learn the secret of it's creation.
6. What is your favorite color?
The color of the world, green.
7. Do you believe that the person you are bonded to should be obeyed in every and all ways?
My oath is my bond. If ever a man doth break his oath, then he is unhonorable and is unworthy to have the name of Gaijin. The bond my grow heavy at times, but never can it be refused. By offering to you my sword, I offer my life into your hands. In return for your trust in me, I place my trust into you that you will not misuse me.
8. Write an essay on what being a Warder means to you. This essay must be 1500 words or less.
Warder's are the last of a dying breed. As a Warder we are bound by oaths thicker than blood to serve our Aes Sedai, till our death. We are expendable. If sacrificing our life saves the life of our Aes Sedai then it was a small price to pay.
Some may say that our abilities could be used elsewhere, such as in the Blight. As Warders we gain special abilities that make us better to fi. We fight the Dark One in our own way. Fighting Trollocs and Halfman one on one, achieves nothing. You kill a serpent, not by chopping it's tail, but by removing the head. This is our goal. By serving the Aes Sedai, we work and wait patiently till the last battle, when we will live up to our name, and destroy the Dark One. By these things I stand, and by my hope of rebirth, I swear unto.
Josh is not above a bit of bribery, so he also sent me a story. I'm enclosing it because it's an interesting story.
Grifter the soon-to-be warder walked through the dark streets of the forgotten city of District of Colon-bia. Searching, he found the person he was looking for. Clad in cadinsor, she had the ageless look that marks the Aes Sedai. Quickly he dropped to one knee, left hand on sword hilt, right fist pressed to the ground, and bowed his head. "As you have summoned me, so havee eI come. I stand ready."
Motioning, she waved him to a chair. "Sit, for we have much to discuss."
"Thank you, Aes Sedai." He bowed his head, glanced at the chair and touched his sword. "By your leave, Hawk Sedai, I will stand. The watch is not done."
"I have summoned you here, so that we may discuss you becoming my warder."
"I stand ready for what comes, Hawk Sedai.", he replied. They discussed many things, such as backrubs and sewing. But finally when they finished, Grifter placed his left hand on the hilt of his sword, and twisted the sword behind him, catching the scabbard in his right, then bowed, arms straight. "By your leave, Hawk Sedai, may I depart this place?"
"You have my leave.", she replied.
With that he turned and left. Never looking behind him.
