You may recall that I recently had an issue updating my chromebook from ChroseOS to lubuntu 25.4.  I was having trouble with. read only file.  Turns out i gave the wrong chmod command.  I did a chmod 755 xxx instead of chmod 777 xxx.  Once i did this i was able to update the file which was previously read only.  I used vi to update the file!
after this the machine is happily running lubuntu 25.4

thanks to Bobbie, Michael and Ken for their input.  Im kinda surprised Rick M didn’t respond as he is always on top of things.

Two Chromebooks updates, one more to go, when my friend comes over to watch.
