-- and are physically able to do so -- at SF's Cafe Enchante, please feel
free to respond on this mailing-list and inform others similarly
interested before this Sunday's meeting :-]

---

Project for self recently carried out so far has been to mimic the native
MacOS X 11.6 El Capitan [3] installed on an old Apple MacBook Air laptop
for an amd64-based Dell laptop.
Even as I write this, am using the Ubuntu-based Pop!_OS [4] installed onto
an SSD on the laptop -- IMHO, its configured COSMIC desktop looks and
feels "somewhat" similar to MacOS X 11.6 , though installation and a
more-thorough configuration have been a real pain to do :-|

Next possible mini-project before and during this Sunday's mtg is to
additionally install elementary OS [5] on a second SSD for the same Dell
laptop, and compare that install with both the native MacOS X 11.6 install
as well as the Pop!_OS install on the first SSD for that Dell laptop.
According to available distro reviews at [6],[7] and [8], while
elementary OS _does_ have its unique Pantheon desktop, at the same time,
other aspects of elementary OS have received decidedly mixed non-Apple
blessings; e.g., OS installation and its system of package management :-\
