I just bothered you with a couple tests of virtual aliasing, but I don't 
think it worked.


Looking a bit further:

 > The canonical(5) mapping is not to be confused with virtual alias
 > support  or  with  local  aliasing.

I confused them.


It seems it ought to work somehow.

And now I can't let it be until one more test, of canonical this time...
