I fondly remember that -- but it was from a long time ago, and
these days, bookmarks are stored in places.sqlite, according to
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data

Firefox can still export bookmarks to and import from HTML files, but
only if you explicitly ask; it doesn't use that format internally.
