It's not a new idea, but it's a good one. More than a decade back, as I
was maintaining a Web page of all known ISO images usable to install
Debian (of which there were many), I became aware of kits to modularise
and automate the process of creating one's own custom respin.
The Web page is one of those that I was driven to create after hearing
something dumb said one time too many, in this case "the Debian
installer sucks!", as if there were only one useful and credible
installer. The page is now moldy (badly needing pruning and updating),
but can be seen here: http://linuxmafia.com/faq/Debian/installers.html
I'm sure the toolsets for doing that are still popular and thriving, but
just haven't done a survey in quite a few years.

Have you started bothering to check PGP signatures on those ISO
checksums yet, Bobbie? As you're providing ISOs to others, it sure
would be a bad thing if you handed out trojaned forgeries of the genuine
ISOs that happened to be put onto the download sites with matching
checksums by the bad guys.
