Are you getting (or planning to get) into Python?
If so I recommend you get yourself on the tutor at python.org mailing list.
I'd also recommend using vim and the command line rather than an IDE.
If you're not familiar with vim, try installing it and then running vimtutor.
You'll be well on your way to mastering vim within an hour or so.
