In that case, you (Bobbie S) might be keenly interested to note that
according to the announcement of the very-limited Beta-type version 8.5.0
of Knoppix [2]....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ quoting from [2] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With the new Hybrid layout of the ISO file, the file can be copied
directly to USB flash disk, either using standard Linux tools like dd or
cp, or programs like -> Win32 Etcher. In this case, the first partition is
read-only because of the iso9660 file system. Because of that, boot
options cannot be changed permanently. Example:
dd if=KNOPPIX_V8.5-2019-02-10-EN.iso of=/dev/sdb bs=1M
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This means that when Knoppix 8.5.x _does_ eventually get released to its
standard mirrors, then you could use Linux 'dd' from the terminal to
directly create a bootable USB stick as opposed to writing to a DVD
beforehand first, given that writing to a DVD "takes a lot more time than
writing an iso to a Flash Drive".

Of course to perform this, you (Bobbie S) might have have to get around
the Linux Terminal discomfort you specifically expressed in [1] as
follows:
> I never wanted to be a Linux Terminal expert because it is so
> different from the AmigaOS which was a much simpler system and
> on which I did lots of stuff essentially in root mode all the

On the positive side of directly imaging the Knoppix 8.5.x iso onto a USB
stick via 'dd' -- once you (Bobbie S) overcome any stigma with using the
Linux Terminal a.k.a. commandline -- then you can more readily use one or
more of the 8 GB capacity drives you mentioned at [3] you already
purchased via Walmart online and better "justify" this purchase ;-)
