Moreover, speaking to Michael P.'s point, this wiki page is the
'Installation Guide' link on https://www.archlinux.org/ front page's 
right-side navbar, under 'Documentation'.  So, one link -- excellent.

Well, on the Instation Guide wiki page 'base group' is a link to
https://www.archlinux.org/groups/x86_64/base/, which lists all the
group's packages, clarifying that this makes an (initial) barebones
console-only host.

I'm not sure there is a 'typical/default Arch Linux installation', so
it's possible that stating requirements for such a target host wouldn't
make much sense.  Anyway, the wiki page gives one enough to go on, e.g.,
don't bother trying without at least 1/2GB RAM, x86_64 (i686 for the
unofficial IA32 port), and mass storage from the relatively modern age.
