And forgive me for asking, but why does crossposting cause issues for list
admins?
I sincerely want to know and I also want to know what these issues are.

Ah yes, netiquette. I suspect most people on social media these days and
some mailing lists
other than this one that I used to be on have no clue what netiquette is or
what it should be.
They're too busy arguing with each other. :p
