believe it or not,
no one can force you to give passwd's.
and you should always have your phone powered FULLY OFF and battery removed
when crossing borders.
if you are given ANY problems by border 'agents' believe it or not,
there should always be a least one U.S. marine or army there and you want
to go directly up to them, tell them you are an American and can prove it,
that you honor our military and thank them for their service, and want to
be taken/go to the U.S. military installation there immediately.
'usually' this will get the border 'agents' off you but if not and they
threaten to detain you, tell the military you want to be taken by them and
speak to their commanding officer immediately.
i know, it sounds counter-intuitive, but abroad the U.S, military @ borders
and embassies will NOT let people (including embassy staff and border
fucktards) fuck with Americans that are simply traveling.
i experienced this first hand in mexico at our embassy and the marines
there were awesome, friendly, helpful, and well versed on what the military
installation is within the embassy which in EVERY country is American soil
(embassy and installation)
it wasn't a phone surveillance issue but the embassy 'staff' were still
total asshats milking a gov, paycheck abroad.
and the marines did NOT like them.
as soon as i went directly up to the closest marine, everything was
immediately taken care of.
[sidenote]
in an extreme case where you are being physically detained or arrested for
any reason say you want to go to/speak with the military C.O. on duty and
as soon as they get there ask to be taken into custody by our military
immediately and say you are an American, thank them for their service, say
you are seeking safe return to the U.S. and have committed no crimes
internationally or domestically, have a current passport, and will
cooperate with them without problems.
they 'may' ask you if you are willing to be transported to a city you
aren't normally returning to and/or if you are willing to wait a couple of
days to go...SAY YES!!!
message ends.
