[sf-lug] SF-LUG meets Monday 16 January 2017

Hi LUGers,

   SF-LUG meets every third Monday from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
and  every first Sunday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
at the Cafe Enchante, 26th and Geary Boulevard.

     These meetings are usually lightly attended with a high for the
last year so far of 7 members.   If you have a problem come along
and maybe we can help but if not we can usually find someone
who can.

     I have downloaded Alpine Linux in x86 and x86_64 check summed
them and written them to disk.  These are compact distributions and
are on CDs.  I should be able to get a version installed to disk and
somewhat upgraded from the base distribution.
     Well Alpine Linux seems to want to be the only one and to use
a whole disk.  The installer is text-based and never showed me
any of the partitions on the disk.   So I did not install this though
I may try it in Virtual Box later on.
     Virtual Box install seems to have worked out ok.
     I will have to do some more reading to understand the Alpine
a bit better.

     Well I hope some of you all can make it to the meeting a week
from today.
