hi teacher,
so you are running ubuntu 12.x lts on what if i
remember correctly is on a 64bit zareason box.
unfortunately, flash is STILL unavoidable in certain parts
of the web and html5 is not replacing as fast as first boasted
about much like A LOT of things.
*browser-wise:*
you may want to try bringing the vids down from
the web, watching them, and deleting them.
recommend disconnecting from network before
watching them.
you can add extensions in firefox;
twitter video downloader (i haven't used this just try it see if it helps)
video download helper (red, yellow, blue dot icon)
downthemall
downthemall anti-container
html5 everywhere
some vids will just play as 'temp' downloads and can be purged from your
cache (history) others will completely save to your drive. set firefox to
ask you every time
where you want it and you'll see how the different vids are handled.
is your twit set to auto-play vids?
*ubuntu-wise *
[code]
# aptitude search codecs
see if any codecs packages are not installed including one's beginning with
libav
if so install them.
[code]
# aptitude search flash
yeah i know, it SUCKS, but install the flashplayer-plugin see if it helps
if not
you can always trash it.
if this doesn't remedy things get back to me i have a page i found where
a guy condenses 12.04lts desktop settings after install (original install)
message ends.
