[sf-lug] request for help re ssh -- sshd login failure

Thank you, Rick. We expect to keep working on
this platform even if we set up something else,
too. If something else works, we're going to
want to discover the significant differences.

I don't believe that there is a Ubuntu bug
that is foiling us.

I, at least, am too ignorant to do much other
than flail. The biggest problem is to know
where to start looking.

We have not tried using the ssh client on the
sshd host and logging into lo

We have inspected log files and config files.

We will investigate the options to ssh and
sshd and whatever else seems to be relevant
and increase verbosity.

It seems worth repeating that I've set up
server systems successfully in the 2005 to
2013 period and that I am doing nothing
different this year yet am consistently
failing with network connectivity. Have
there been any changes that are foiling us?
