Hi LUGers,

   SF-LUG meets every first Sunday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
and every third Monday from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
at the Cafe Enchante, 26th and Geary Boulevard.

These meetings are usually lightly attended with a high for the
year so far of 7 members. If you have a problem come along
and maybe we can help but if not we can usually find someone
who can.

I got lucky and got the latest issue of Linux Pro on Saturday
23 January. The DVD which is double-sided has Fedora 23 Workstation
in 64 bit and the Ubuntu 15.10 in 32 bit variant. Impressive article
on systemd and its configurable commands as well as other matters
of interest.

On January 24 or thereabouts I downloaded the new Knoppix 7.6.1.
I have two copies of this on DVDs, one for a member who has not had
time to pickup the 7.6 and one extra. I booted it up and using
Knoppix's own tool wrote it to my Flash Drive. It worked pretty well
on my 4 core AMD with 12 GiB of ram.

Also have downloaded the latest tails 2.0 and have a copy,
the checksum is was elusive but finally got it.
tails-i386-2.0.iso

I was also able to get a copy of Sabayon_Linux_16.02_amd64_KDE.iso
and made a copy on DVD. This might be usable with Secure Boot

Let me know if anyone wants a copy of these disks or the stuff
mentioned in my meeting report. I have decided to ignore early
betas and alpha releases this year unless it is Mageia 6 or PC-LOS.

Hope to see you at the meeting.

     Bobbie Sellers
