Site Reliability Engineer - $80-95k base +bonus + stock options
KIXEYE is looking for great Linux engineers with troubleshooting ability
and people skills to work closely with Systems Engineers and Game teams
to improve game delivery and resolve unexpected
performance issues. The successful candidate must be excited to make a
difference in a high profile, creative environment with dynamic problems
to solve. They should not only have the ability to quickly remediate
problems, but the strong desire to develop processes which both improve
game performance
and prevent new issues.
What you get to do every day:
Troubleshoot and resolve new and unique problems without a predefined
solution
* Work with multiple teams to resolve game issues that affect our
customers.
* Coordinate with key stakeholders to realize performance
improvements
* Be exposed to a wide variety of new technologies at scale
* What you bring to the role:
A positive, can-do attitude
* Prior operations experience, with a strong Linux generalist
background
* Strong TCP/IP networking ability
* Command of server hardware architectures and strategies both
past and present
* Experience with public-facing PHP/Java based environments, and
security best-practices
* Demonstrated ability to write solid reports and the discipline
to document practices and process
* Mentoring and communication of operations standards to
development teams
* Bachelor’s degree or an extremely compelling list of relevant
excellence
* 5+ years of sysadmin experience preferred

Would be nice to have:
Excellence with CentOS/RHEL and/or Ubuntu/Debian systems
* Configuration and debugging experience with common LAMP stacks;
PHP, NGNIX, Apache, and memcached
* Operational experience with MySQL, NoSQL, innodb, Mongo,
Percona, and/or ScaleArc
* Monitoring and scripting experience with Nagios/opsview, Munin,
cacti, and/or Keynote
* Relevant development on a relevant open-source platform of some
type
* Prior NOC experience, game or application space, finance or web
services industries a major plus
