I don't know about Perl and Ruby, but I know that the Qt interface to
MeeGo relies on some libraries called PySide that have a free software
license and are replacing PyQt. PyQt will still work AFAIK.

The upcoming *FREE* MeeGo Conference from May 23 to 25 in SF at the
Hyatt Regency Embarcadero will feature a tutorial on PySide run by
Thomas Perl and Matti Airas. See

http://wiki.meego.com/MeeGo_Conference_Spring_2011#Provisional_schedule

Thomas is the author of the gpodder app that also runs on Gnome
desktops and which will sync subscriptions among multiple devices.
Thomas (m at thp.io) is a university student from Austria who would love
to meet local Pythonistas while he is in the Bay Area.

The rest of the Conference Schedule is here:

MeeGo has active IRCs (meego-python for example) and mailing lists,
and those are the best places to get any questions you might have
answered.
