(Hi Michael, can you forward this to the BALUG list? Are there any
other local *NIX lists you think it's appropriate for? Thanks, -Peter)

Subject: Tablet PCs from Intel Thursday 4/28 at Moscone

Intel is launching an app store and playing catch up in the tablet
space, trying to get people to develop apps for the Open Source Meego
OS running on Intel processors. As such, Intel is handing out EXOPC
tablets to everyone who attends either of two events at AppNation
Tomorrow (Thursday 4/28) at Moscone Center.

Follow this link:

http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/events

You don't have to register and pay for the AppNation conference itself
but it seems you do have to register for the Intel AppUp Developer
Program AND explicitly join the IntelAtom Developer Network developer
program (fee waived for now.) Also: note that you can skip entering
any paypal registration info and it still lets you register.

You have to sit through a presentation on Meego and how to develop for
it, but they are offering lots of prizes for developing and/or porting
apps to the Intel App Store.

-Peter
