[sf-lug] laptop upgrade recommendation

Ever since I got it (on the advice of Asheesh,) probably about 2 years ago at least, my T42 has been displaying an image that looks exactly like what's depicted in the first image at

but this is only for a few seconds when booting,
it's never been a problem, and
there's no hint that the symptom is progressive.
I confess to frequently lifting my T42 with one hand but will avoid doing so in the future.
