"giovanni_re <john_re at fastmail.us>" appears to be the latest handle of
John Regan of Berkeley (or thereabouts), who's genuis loci of
"BerkeleyTIP" and "GlobalTIP".

When he says "joining the global Linux meeting", he means someone at
Cafe Enchante donating the use of his or her cellular or other bandwidth
to stream IRC and VOIP (and Ekiga and whatever) to/from elsewhere.
