[sf-lug] jim unsatisfied with apt-get and adobe flash and other things

Hmm, that's strange. Your sources.list is pointing to gutsy (7.10) not
hardy (8.04). Are you sure it was 8.04 and not 7.10? What does the
output of "cat /etc/lsb-release" show?

I would try doing a "sudo apt-get update" before trying to
install/remove any packages. I suspect what's happened is that there
have been security updates since it downloaded the last version of the
package metadata, and that's why it's complaining about the size of
things not being what it's expecting.
