Man, I felt tired just reading that account.  Me, I get access to CUPS
printer setup / administration using just a Web browser.  Try:
http://localhost:631/

I'd not bothered to set up a "PDF" printer config until just now, but it
was very obvious how to do it via the CUPS admin Web pages.
