"Why's (Poignant) Guide to Ruby" would be an example of an excellent
free tutorial _not_ by Bruce Eckel.  ;->  And "The Little Schemer" ain't
free of charge, but is worth the ducats.

(Why limit one's answers to $SOMEONE_ELSES_SUCKY_LANGUAGE, I say.)
