Whether to do that or not is not up for consideration, because the 
Gmane software does not allow leaving the @ in place anyway. Unless 
somebody has a strong objection, I'll specify simple @-to-AT conversion 
instead of scrambling the whole address to eliminate the possibility of 
harvesting, because that's how the current official web-archive handles
