IMVAO:  The best and most polite way for subscribers to deal with the
situation Christian describes is _not_ to post an image (or other
attachment), but rather to post it to webspace somewhere (Flickr, if you
don't have anywhere else), and post the URL instead of the whole darned
file.  This allows people who actually _want_ to see the image to easily 
do so, while not "pushing" the attachment out to everyone whether we want 
the file or not.
