I would also recommend a Dell. Dell has 'opened their arms' to the open
source community after the response they got on their idea storm website.
The more linux folk that patronize them the better. Total linux sales will
be the indicator of whether or not it was a wise idea to support linux on
the desktop. Thus far the actual number of linux boxes purchased has been
far less than the interest indicated. The argument is that although there
was a large amount of people that said they would purchase linux pcs if
offered, not all were in the market for a new pc at the moment. Hopefully
over time this will prove correct as more and more people purchase linux pcs
from them. I purchased my new laptop from them to show support for their
linux endeavor.
