We (I work for Canonical - Sysadmin for Launchpad and Landscape) have a
support center in North America which keeps US hours, as well as, I
believe, support centers in Europe. There is also 24x7 support
available.

I'm sorry you had such a hard time setting up an account. Hopefully your
actual experience with support will be better (and we'll take notice of
the issues you've experienced and fix them). In a blind test of the
support teams done by Linux Format in August 2007 (a UK based magazine,
it should be noted), Canonical came joint first with Red Hat on support
in a comparison that compared Red Hat, Novell and Canonical, so from
what I understand, the support itself is pretty good...
