per john's email re key signing and the
encryption discussion we had at the last
meeting--this is a very readable and
informative article regarding encrypted
filesystems.
    why do that? to hide your data from a
thief who steals your laptop or a crooked
repair technician.
    how to do that? gotta have a special
kernel. for me the value was the clarity
in the explanation of loopback filesystems
