Yes.   If memory serves, IDG outsources it to a generic e-commerce
fulfillment house.

They're moved out, before then.

IDG's conferences are unfailingly like that:  They're primarily pitched
at IT middle-managers who can attend on the corporate dime.

The very first LWCE, 1998 in San Jose, didn't suck -- and, if you'll
pardon some immodesty, the reason was that IDG had merged their event
with the then-planned LINC conference that a number of us local Linux 
activists had in the offing (scheduled for spring 1998 at the San Jose
Doubletree), and IDG ran _our_ lecture & tutorial programme as theirs.

Subsequent LWCEs have been more like generic IT trade shows.
