Having worked in emergency services, Waffle House is in an interesting spot.
During a hurricane, you still have emergency responders running around, so
they stay open.
Some locations dont even have a lock on the front door.
Disaster workers measure the emergency by how many waffle houses have had
to close.
This time, even disaster workers arent eating out, and THATS why Waffle
House is closing locations.
Interesting is how places like Panera are now selling groceries.
The supply chain for institutional use is suddenly slack.
This stuff cant go to grocery stores because it has to be repackaged for
individual sale.
Most homes dont want to buy flour in 100lb sacks.
Someone like panera can order pallets of containers, and repackage into
smaller quantities.
Now you can buy a sandwichm a pound of butter and a roll of TP.
