You'll notice I didn't put the error string portion of my search
incantation into quotation marks, so I deliberately allowed fuzzy
matches.  (There are of course other times when you really need to say
'No, only exactly this, verbatim.')

Huh.  {scratches head}

You _had_ done 'apt-get update' before, in the recent past, since your
recent revision of sources.list, right?  I think you said so.

If so, it's a genuine head-scratcher why it was necessary to first
remove the package, then refresh the package catalogues (again,
redundantly), then install the same package -- to get a modern version.

But sure, take the victory.  ;->
