You know, I thought it was true since around 2012, too, and that was
both my and Deirdre's immediate reaction.

Without further research, which I lacked the inclination and time to do,
I have no idea what the current law changes.

Feel free to look up what the diff is, if so motivated.

Well, in 2006, they had a problem because I very honestly stated my
current address, that I had moved some while before, and that the
Registrar of Voters should have gotten the change of address from DMV.
The latter was not true, ergo I was required to use a provisional
ballot.

It's highly probable that _if_ had failed to mention the move and had
them look me up under 2033 Sharon Road, I'd have raised no objection,
but IMO that would have been dishonest.  Also, giving my correct address
was _supposed_ to work.
