Just want to chime in that the Chromium equivalent of this is
NotScript. I use both NoScript in Firefox and NotScript in Chromium
and they are extremely useful.

Option E is to install the browser add-on NoScript and sync it across all
your machines.  This will block everything on the internet by default until
you unblock it by hand.  There is a lot to unblock, but it is a fantastic
tool mentioned on this mailing list many times.
