[conspire] yet another non related question

My only "experience" with GoDaddy was when I though it would be nice to have the domain name PaulZander.com.   As far as I know, that name has not been used, BUT GoDaddy has it registered and they wanted to charge me an extra for my own name.

can anyone recommend a good domain registrar? GoDaddy are probably the cheapest, but i read some horror stories about them too. i'm just looking to buy the domain and DNS and host at home.
