This is the method for standalone code.

\begin{verbatim}
    .  .  .
    label "a" * 'label :=          % label := label * "a"
    lab.width #1 + 'lab.width :=   % lab.width := lab.width + 1

It works equally well on TeX source and any other kind of code.

Here is how to embed TeX code in text, between backquote '`' and quote " ' ".

With the single command `\hbox{\verb|\nocite{*}|}'
you can now include in the reference list
every entry in the database files
