I remember, after many years of patronising the Fry family's
supermarkets in Contra Costa County, walking into the original Fry's
Electronics store, a repurposed grocery store on Oakmead Parkway near
Lakeside, just east of Lawrence Expressway, Sunnyvale.[1]

What was truly mind-bending about it was that everything about the
layout and ergonomics of the place still proclaimed "supermarket".
The only difference was that the impulse items near the checkout
stations were, so to speak, chips and DIPs, rather than chips and dips.
