I visited David this evening at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center on
Bascom (near I-280).  He's currently in Building M (Main Building),
Transitional Ward, fourth floor, room 97.  I expect he'd be glad to 
have visitors, while he's recuperating.  Official visiting hours are 10
AM to 9 PM.

My name wasn't checked off against any allowed list, so it may be that
the staff are being more liberal about visitation.

I'm not clear on the root cause of his hospital stay, and my 
understanding (which may be wrong) is that doctors are trying to
determine that.  I notice that he's being administered a fairly
heavy-duty antibiotic.  As Bruce mentioned, David isn't currently able
to talk (at least not very loud, and possible he shouldn't try), so he
makes use of a legal pad to pass notes to visitors.
